Cakehead – the bakery built on passion

Cakehead opening its new bakery in 2020 has been the culmination of a dream that started in 2004. It was then that founders Chris and Helen decided to turn their passion into a business and started bringing the same artisanal baked delights to their customers that they’d been providing to select coffee shops, farms shops and delis.

Still proudly based in Oakham, Rutland (the UK’s smallest county) we continue to handcraft every cake and bake we make, but what the new bakery lets us do is really bring joy through cake to more of the UK than ever before.

Nothing shows this better than our latest offering, our Cakeout boxes. The idea was pretty simple – create a way to bring those coffee shops treats to people who couldn’t get out quite as much (and that means everyone – it is 2020 after all). These gorgeously packaged bakes are perfect to share with friends and family, great as gifts and are ideal as a reward for getting through yet another day of WFH! Not only are Cakeout boxes brilliant for so many occasions, they also cater for all tastes and dietary requirements, with Indulgent, Lighter and Vegan & Gluten Free options on offer.

We also care a lot about our team! Our purpose is to establish a collaborative approach to achieving inclusive excellence at Cakehead.
